The banks of the Tiber, that's where the she-wolf
found me and Remus alone.
Our mother was Rhea, father was Mars,
Grandpa was king then dethroned.

Then came a shepherd - Faustulus found us
He raised us and strong we became.
The truth was discovered, we launched revolution,
Led the evil king to his grave.

Nobody said it was easy,
Fate makes these things what they are.
Nobody said it was easy,
We could never know it would be this hard.

I was there at the start.

We founded a new state, we fought over power,
I killed my twin for the throne.
Founded in blood, her midwife was war,
Our city was born to be bold.

I was the first king, then Numa Pompilius,
Tullus Hostilius next.
Then Ancus Martius, Tarquinius Priscus,
Servius Tullus then Tarquin the Proud.

Nobody said it was easy,
Fate makes these things what they are.
Nobody said it was easy,
We could never know it would be this hard.

I was there at the start.

I packed my bags today pre-dawn
Latin final 9am
And I've got to study
Three hours by then

I think about my nouns and their cases
The subject's in the nominative
And the noun the subject "verbs"
Is accusative.

CHORUS:

And I think I'm gonna label all my nouns
So I can make sure I know what they are
There are some forms that look a lot alike
Oh no, no, no this feels like war
Latin forms, I'm not gonna let you bring me down

And I think I'm gonna label all my nouns
But first I have to know the declension
Or else I'll think of the wrong list of forms
Oh no, no, no…that would be a shame
Latin forms, I'm not gonna let you bring me down

Verbs are next on the list…indicative:
o, s, t, mus, tis, nt
The endings show who's verbing-
They tell a story

And then commands: imperatives!
They tell someone just what to do
And then infinitives
The key word is "to"

CHORUS:

And I think I'm gonna label all my nouns
So I can make sure I know what they are
There are some forms that look a lot alike
Oh no, no, no this feels like war
Latin forms, I'm not gonna let you bring me down

And I think I'm gonna label all my verbs
Better not forget what moods exist
Or else the tricky ones will conquer me
Oh no, no, no…with an iron fist
Latin forms, I'm not gonna let you bring me down

And I think it's gonna be a long long test

I never knew, I never knew that everything was falling through
That half the seventh grade was waiting on a queue
To turn and run and take away my Mini Miss.
But that's how it's got to be -
It's coming down to nothing less than treachery
You'd better run the other way than stay and see
What happens when the sixth grade hears of this.

CHORUS:

Everyone knows you're in
Over your head, over your head,
With thirty-plus loyal footsoldiers
We'll get her back, we'll get her back
.

Let's rearrange, let's say this story started out a different way
Mini Miss, she could have had a pleasant day
If only she had not been swallowed by a shoe.
And then nibbled on
And locked up in a vault in darkness
But she smiled through everything that she suffered
Because she knew her troops were on the way.

CHORUS

And suddenly, you begin to feel afraid,
'cuz 6th graders can be so crazed
when they're defending Mini Miss.
Without a sound, they sneak up and now they're all around
You thought you could hide out underground.
You didn't think they'd find you there.

You took me away outside Barcelona
When Anna was buying snack.
On a bus at a rest stop you committed your crime
With help from the kids in the back.

I don't know where I am or where I'm going,
Don't even know what day it is,
But I'll fight to the last breath,
My courage grows
instead of the terror and heartache
that you sought to cause.

CHORUS:

And I'll find my way back to freedom
Oh I, I will survive.
I'm Mini, but I'm a giant on the inside
I'll be the bravest captive alive.

A lonely action figure fighting her way
through rebellions and abduction plots
When she calls the gods they run right to her side
and they try to make the craziness stop.

But their protection just ain't helping at all
'cause she can't seem to keep herself out of trouble
It's tough to be so powerful that everyone's afraid of your name
so scared that they conspire against you.

CHORUS:

Don't go chasing Mini Miss,
Don't you know that she'll be chasing you in the end?
If you wanna play it that way then she says "bring it on",
But I think you'll rue the day.

Just yesterday morning,
I walked into Latin class,
Ms. A, the plans you made
put an end to me.
I took out my homework,
but it wasn't done,
I knew there was no way you wouldn't see.

CHORUS:
Oh, I've seen nouns and I've seen verbs,
I've seen adjectives that turned into adverbs.
I've seen many things that I couldn't identify,
But I know I've got to just sit here and try.

Been thinkin' my way through a sentence,
I need to find the verb.
Can't find anything that seems
like what I'm looking for.
So I say "puella" and she just stares,
she says "Hey, that's a noun!"
I hang my head and slowly sink into the ground.

Won't you look down upon me, Jesus,
You gotta help me make a stand.
You just got to see me through another day.
My mind is aching and my time is at hand,
'Cuz Mini Ms. A's lookin' my way.

"OH SCARY NIGHT"
Hear me sing my hit song! or Hear just a clip.

Oh, scary night before my Latin final,
I cannot sleep, cannot eat, cannot breathe.
Long have I prayed for some kind of act of nature
To forestall, oh this dreaded event.

A thrill of hope, the snow falls fast and heavy,
But yonder breaks a new a drivable morn -
We fall on our knees, we fall and we pray,
But fate is cruel, oh fate is very cruel.
Our destiny, it stands unmoved, unmovable.

Nox terribilis, Latinum ante examen,
non dormio, nec edo, nec respiro.
Diu speravi quandam rem naturae
quae impediat hanc calamitatem.

Nix crebera spem cordi meo incutit
sed mane venit dies tractabilis,
ad genua prolapsi precamur
sed fata dura, fata durissima
Sortes nostrae stant immotae, immobiles.
